Of Change

We are often told and know that change is the only constant in life. Life itself goes through many phases, each of which ends, to give way to another. Yet we take our own sweet time to accept change. Even when the inevitable ending of a life phase stares at one in the face, we refuse to accept it, or want to wish it away.
It is believed that we come into each other’s lives and strike up relationships when we have certain lessons to learn from one another. Some relationships are for a reason, others for a season and still others for a lifetime! Our mutual experiences teach us a lot and when we have nothing more to learn, we move on to other people and experiences as life is a constant process of learning.
But even though the only certainty about anything in life is its expiry, it is hard for one to accept an ending. In a relationship to which one has given his/her all, tried everything but not got back on the footing desired, it seems to be the correct time to end that tie. Yet one dreads to give up. Accepting the  finality of the inevitable seems all the more difficult for a woman who is a nurturer and preserver by nature.
